The Campaign

Campaign Title
Rengera Ubuzima Bwa Hazaza
Campaign Summary
Translated as ‘Protect the Future Life,’ this campaign focuses on overcoming administrative and cultural barriers that delay treatment. Its strategy centers on church-based influence, particularly respected church mothers who can lead breast-health education during Sunday women’s meetings. By working through high-trust community structures, the campaign aims to teach breast self-awareness and signs of concern in a safe environment, shifting fear toward earlier action.
Public-Health Challenge
Fear, administrative delays, cultural stigma, and financial barriers can postpone treatment and contribute to poor outcomes.
Systems Insight
The team identified church mothers as a potential high-trust leverage point for community behavior change, while recognizing that excessive demand could affect clinic experience and trust.
Audience & Community Context
Women over 30 in rural communities and church-based community networks, including families facing financial and administrative barriers to care.
Campaign Status
In development — resumes when the cohort returns from school break.
Interdisciplinary Roster
Six disciplines, one team.
