Campaign Title

Stories That Save Lives

Campaign Summary

This campaign is an integrated system that combines interactive radio drama, survivor stories, and community discussions with structured screening navigation and clinical-capacity coordination. It recognizes that awareness alone does not save lives and focuses on guiding women through the entire journey to treatment. A key feature is its Circuit Breaker architecture, which throttles media outreach when clinical capacity utilization is under strain to protect clinic stability. It also proposes alternative pathways, such as a roving ultrasound task force and pre-paid transport vouchers, to address logistical and financial bottlenecks.

Public-Health Challenge

Rwanda faces high rates of late-stage breast-cancer diagnosis, driven in part by emotional and behavioral barriers such as fear, stigma, and fatalism.

Systems Insight

The team identified a Success Trap: effective demand generation can overwhelm limited clinical capacity. Their Circuit Breaker architecture adjusts media outreach based on clinic-utilization thresholds.

Audience & Community Context

The campaign targets rural women and their families through high-trust, culturally grounded channels such as interactive radio drama, survivor storytelling, and community discussion.
